A Drowning At Double Six Beach, Seminyak.
Another sad drowning story from Bali.
A student from Denpasar, Muhamad Aidil Mubarok (16) was reported missing after he was swept away by a strong current while swimming at Double Six Beach, Seminyak, at 8.30pm on Tuesday (7 June 2022).
Muhamad, his little brother Dafa, and 5 of his friends were playing football at around 6.30pm, after which they decided to go for a swim. A lifeguard had already warned them not to swim in the red flag zone before returning to his post, but they ignored the warning.
Not long after that, Dafa was swept away by the current and his brother Muhamad tried to save him. Dafa was eventually rescued, but Muhamad was not be able to make it back.
A search was immediately conducted by water patrol and lifeguards using jetskis, speedboats, and even helped by some surfers.
After searching all night, the body of Muhamad was found washed ashore 200 meters to the north of the incident. His body was then brought home to his family by ambulance
