Another Drowning. This Time At Kuta Beach.

Bali resident, Kadek Yuda Yudyandika (19 yo) was reported missing after he was swept away by a strong current while swimming at Kuta Beach on Wednesday (18/5/2022) afternoon.

He and four of his friends were playing volleyball, and at around 6:40pm, he asked his friends to go for a swim.

Kadek was swimming in the red flag zone – where swimming is not recommended – ignoring warnings from his friends. He was swiftly dragged by the current out to sea and his friends immediately asked for help from some nearby surfers, but it was too late.

Four Bali Basarnas (Denpasar Search and Rescue) officers together with the local SAR team had been trying to find Kadek by combing the shoreline.

Update: The man's body was found washed ashore by Denpasar Search and Rescue at 9:00pm on the 19th of May.

This follows another drowning incident at Batu Bolong earlier in the month.
