Australian Man Dies Surfing In Garajagan, Indonesia.
In tragic news, Australian expat, Gunther Kitzler has reportedly died while surfing in the Garajagan area of East Java yesterday.
Wahyu Setia from Banyuwangi Search and Rescue stated that Gunther drowned while surfing with two friends, also from Australia.
"The trio arrived at the beach on Monday morning at around 5.30am and went surfing. Not long after, his friends saw Gunther's surfboard floating on the surface," Wahyu added
With Gunther’s body underwater the two friends tried to pull him up by his legrope but were unable to hang on in the rough conditions – losing sight of him completely.
