Body Of Australian Surfer, Gunther Kitzler Found

The body of Gunther Kitzler, the surfer from Australia who disappeared while surfing in Garajagan, East Java, was discovered by fishermen yesterday morning (5 March 2024).

Wahyu Setya, from Search and Rescue said that at the time of the incident the victim was surfing with two friends who saw his board just floating. When they tried to pull Gunther out of the water his leagrope snapped and he was washed away.

His body was successfully retrieved by Search and Rescue, identification was carried out and it was confirmed to be Gunther. He was found about five kilometers from where he had been surfing.
